PEDIATRIC Committee

If you are interested in taking the ENPC course, look on the Cal ENA Education page for courses in your area.

Pediatric Readiness Project Survey rollout will be on January 2, 2012

Our Goals

  • We continue to support the growth of ENPC courses throughout the state.
  • We will try to recruit more instructors to teach.
  • We will watch legislation relating to pediatrics.
  • We will work with the Injury Prevention Committee to set up some sort of injury prevention activity that can take place in several locations around the state.
  • We will work with the National Committee to see if we can make a pediatric get-together available at Scientific Assembly in San Diego in September.

Pediatric Committee Meeting Minutes

California Emergency Nurses Association

August 12, 2011

Members Present:  Christine Marshall (chair), Flora Tomoyasu (chair-elect), Agnes Faria, Lark Bowyer, Vicki Dippner-Robertson, Gail Dodge, Marty Hay, Patrice Christensen, Jill Naomi-Russell, Louella Buell and Judy Cline

The pediatric committee continues to discuss ways to help emergency nurses receive quality ENPC courses and educate directors on best practices.  We have a healthy budget and plan to use some of our monies to fund ENPC instructor courses and mentor directors.  There will be an instructor course in San Diego on Saturday after the next California ENA meeting in November.  Please contact me or Marty Hay if you would like to attend or help out.  One of our challenges will be to mentor the new instructor candidates, but we hope to accomidate everyone who needs us.

The new ENPC rollout has been delayed a year till October of 2012 due to some requests for changes.  Please check out the ENA web site if you are a director.  I will bring a list of directors and instructors in California to the November meeting so that we can strategize on how to better communicate new ENPC information.

Hope to see you in San Diego,

Christine Marshall, RN MSN CEN CPEN
